CHARACTER INFORMATION
Character Name: Blues
Age: Unknown, a few years but he looks to be a teenager and he has the mentallity of someone in the late teens early adult-range.
Canon: Mega Man (Archie Comics)
Canon Point: Before Wily finds him in Proto-Type
Character Information: Wiki
Personality: Blues, being a robot, should by all rights have a basic personality that wouldn't grow much. But Dr. Light wanted to bridge the gap between humans and machines, thus Blues' programming is much more complex than the average "Robot Master". He had a great appreciation for life, while still showing a cocky side, as shown by his eagerness during a weapon's test. He also had a rebellious phase, much like all young teenagers, which was what led to the misunderstanding between him and his father, leading to his life on the run.
It's entirely possible that Blues is still somewhat like the young robot he used to be, but after being heartbroken by the one person he trusted the most? He decided to avoid interacting with others as much as possible. Which actually makes it so he's not too good at communicating with others, at least on a personal level. The few times Blues does talk to others, that we're shown, he speaks bluntly but avoids giving details if he is uncomfortable about the subject—for instance after Wily saved him and tries to pry into why Blues left Light Blues simply states he doesn't want to talk about it.
It's also odd because we're shown that his inner thoughts are actually very deep, and well-spoken. In his own head Blues is actually a really smart young fellow. He just has no skills at expressing his thoughts. Expressing emotion was once easier, however, as Blues could easily show happiness or anger. However, with how things have gone lately in his life? He's fallen into a sort of blank-faced indifference, with a few instances of emotion. He tends to hide things behind a standoffish or roguish attitude, with his mask only slipping at times when he finds his worldview challenged, as shown by his tantrum when he yelled at Tempo about his father "replacing" him.
Blues has a strong sense of justice, though it's also conflicted with his desire to prove himself against his brother. His rivalry is not so important to him, however, that he is willing to put it ahead of matters of greater importance, as shown when he was horrified at accidentally injuring his sister and helping to stop Ra Moon. Before meeting up with Wily, he would help random people who needed it, and in truth, he only assisted the doctor out of a sense of gratitude for saving him. Ultimately, his sense of right and wrong was enough to make him break away from Wily for good, and become "Proto Man" in earnest.
Blues is also a very stubborn and prideful robot. Even after all he's done, and the journey he's taken, he's not ready to be Dr. Light's son again. Once he settles on a course to take, it can be very difficult to make him abandon it. This can be used for good in terms of dedication to a cause, but it can also keep him from neglecting his own well being, as shown by his unwillingness to return home and have his core repaired. All in all, these traits combine to make Blues come across as a sort of roguish teenager, with all the good and bad qualities that entails.
